Saddlery Salt Block Holder SBH-100
www.dans-saddlery.com
- 800-683-3267 - |
$8.49 |
Heavy-duty
black or “natural” plastic, solid back
and sides but designed so that when block is snapped
in place it protrudes somewhat from the front of
the holder. Comes with instructions and hardware
for mounting in a bucket, but not hardware for wall
mounting. Disadvantage is that it’s a little
hard to get the blocks to “snap” into
place. You have to really wrestle with them a bit,
but one they are in there, they’re in to stay.
A good buy. Durable. Won’t rust. Places the
salt so that the horse won’t be able to chew
on the plastic. We suggest you purchase stainless
steel hardware to use rather than the provided mounting
hardware to avoid rusting. |

cracks and is easily chewed, which will lead to
rapid corrosion. |

Vet Salt Block Holder
50 lb. #12482
Valley Vet Supply
www.valleyvet.com

$15.25 |
Hanging holder for 50-lb. blocks. Fits over pipes/poles
or other fencing. Baked black enamel coating over
metal. Good idea for keeping large blocks up off
the ground, but the enamel finish chips, which leads
to rapid corrosion. The fence-mounted holder is
a nifty idea for keeping blocks clean from dirt/mud
or manure, but it definitely requires a sturdy fence
line to support it. |
